She married a good guy, or so she thinks. That’s what everyone tells her anyway. So why is her marriage so confusing? Betrayal Trauma Recovery is a weekly podcast featuring interviews and commentary for women whose marriages seem healthy on paper but feel confusing, lonely, or unsafe.
Host Anne Blythe, M.Ed., compassionately interviews survivors and includes trauma-informed analysis to help listeners process what they’re hearing. She also uses her own lived experience as a victim of emotional and psychological abuse to illustrate how deception often keeps women from recognizing emotional and psychological abuse in real time. In fact, the point of the podcast is to educate women about how deception itself IS abuse. More than 200 in-depth interviews help listeners hear the language women use when they’re talking about marriage before they’re able to identify the abuse they’re experiencing.
The show helps women name what is happening, trust their perceptions, and make informed decisions for themselves and their children. Anne is the founder and executive director of BTR.ORG, whose team has supported more than 9,000 clients. BTR offers a survivor-centered alternative to advice that isn’t helpful to a victim of abuse. I’m committed to keeping the podcast free so that all women can learn about how to detect emotional and psychological abuse in real time.
